MENU

I take a relaxed approach to newborn photography. I'm not one for stiff posing or awkward smiles. I like movement, real laughter, and lots of love. I aim to make newborn sessions as stress-free as possible so we can focus on the most important thing - your family loving on the littlest new member, in the house you've made your home.

The best images are created when families have zero expectations and go with the flow. Relax, embrace whatever comes, laugh, and have loads of fun. Every shoot is unique because every family is unique. Your session is all about YOU and capturing your life exactly how it is on the day of your shoot.

Newborn Session Info

WHERE SHOULD WE SHOOT?

Newborn sessions usually take place in the comfort of your own home, but if you're up to an outdoor session, those always turn out beautifully. For in-home sessions, we'll be using the brightest rooms, which are typically the living room, kitchen, master bedroom, and nursery.

HOW DO BOOKING DATES WORK?

Once you're booked, simply reach out after your baby has arrived (right around when you're announcing the birth to family and friends is perfect!). I'll send over some available dates within the following weeks.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO SHOOT?

I recommend observing the light in your home for a few days. The best time to shoot is when the natural light is at its brightest, which creates soft, beautiful images.

WHAT IF MY BABY IS FUSSY?

As a mother myself, I know how unpredictable babies can be. If your baby gets fussy, we'll take a break for feeding or comforting. We'll continue once your baby is feeling more settled.

HOW SHOULD WE PREPARE?

- To capture those adorable sleeping photos, I recommend keeping your baby awake for 1 to 1.5 hours before our session. This will help ensure they're nice and sleepy after feeding.

- Feed your baby as I arrive to help them feel content and ready for a nap. Make sure your baby is dressed in the outfit you'd like them photographed in before feeding to avoid waking them up for a wardrobe change.

- If it's cooler out, turning up the heat a little will help keep your baby cozy and comfortable during the session.

- If you'd like to include items like additional outfits, swaddles, headbands, or accessories, please gather them ahead of time so everything is ready to go. Some parents prefer their baby to be in a diaper or swaddle for most of the session - whatever suits your style!

- While there's no need for a deep clean, a clutter-free background can make a big difference. We'll be using the brightest rooms in your home, so tidying up those areas will help create the best possible backdrop.

WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?

The best rule of thumb is to wear something that makes you feel great. Comfortable, confident outfits create beautiful images! Here are a few style tips to make your session even more stunning:

Great Choices:

+ Casual

+ Neutrals and earthy tones

+ Natural fabrics

+ Flowy outfits with movement

+ Textures

+ A cohesive color palette (3-4 colors)

Avoid:

- Large patterns

- Logos

- Bright colors

- Too much white (ivory, cream, or beige works better)

- Tight-fitting clothes

- Running shoes
